As someone who blogs on the BBC network and external in my own personal blog I can happily say that the path you've nagivated with regard to blogging guidelines is the right one. In truth, I've not read those guidelines closely for some time now finding far more guidance in knowing some of the people who read what I write. If I can write a blog (internal or external) with the faces of those people in my mind's eye then I figure it's OK to post it. If I can't then I need to refer to my own internal standards and guidelines.
